Sunday Morning Traditional Worship
At 8 & 10 am, Dunn's Corners Worships in its original fashion. Traditional Worship refers mostly to the style of worship. Traditional, often the old-faitful, hymns are sung. Pastors lead worship and give the sermon. Handbells and the Chancel Choir lead musical offerings.
8am Worship is often the relaxed, quieter version of the 10am Worship. Those wishing to have a quiet worship experience often gravitate to the 8am. Worship, during the summer months, moves outdoors to the Chapel-in-the-Pines when the weather cooperates.
10am Worship is the same as the 8am Worship with the often addition of extra musical offerings. Most frequently, the Chancel Choir leads the congregation in hymns and offers anthems for moments of reflection. Once a month, the English Handbell Choir (The Community Church Ringers) adds more music to the service. Sometimes replacing the Chancel Choir. Sometimes playing with the Choir. Or other times playing separate times than the Choir adding a greater variety to that one service.
Both services are led by our Pastor, The Rev. Dr. James Glenn. He gives the sermons and leads us in prayer. We also welcome volunteer Worship Leaders at both services to help Rev. Jim. They often read scripture and lead us in corporate prayer.
Sunday School classes are offered at both services all year, led by a volunteer staff, and an infant/toddler nursery is available to parents with younger children than can go to Sunday School. Sunday School children are sent out after the Children's Moment and meet their teachers in the Fellowship Hall to go in groups, off to their classrooms. |
